Secondary School Study Skills & Exam Resilience Programme
Learn Smarter, Calmer, and More Effectively
This online study skills programme is designed for secondary school students in Hong Kong, the UK, and overseas. Whether your child is preparing for the HKDSE, GCSE, A-Level, IB, or other international examinations, the evidence-based strategies in this course can strengthen their learning, focus, motivation, memory, and overall wellbeing.
Grounded in Cognitive Psychology and Positive Psychology, the programme teaches students how to build sustainable study habits, manage stress, overcome procrastination, and develop emotional resilience. Instead of waiting for students to “burn out,” we equip them early with practical tools that help them study more efficiently
Not just grades.
We build strength that lasts a lifetime.

From Long-Hour Studying to Smart Studying: A Better Way for Hong Kong Students
Like many Hong Kong parents, I also grew up under the old exam system, endless classes, weekend tutoring, and memorising page after page.
Back then, we believed more hours = better results.
But does repeating the same path guarantee learning, health, and happiness for our children today?
Is there a smarter and more balanced way, one that helps them learn efficiently, manage stress, and build motivation that lasts into university and beyond?
Years later, through completing three postgraduate degrees in psychology-related fields and working across psychology, neuroscience, and health, I learned something powerful:
Our brain, body, and emotions are deeply connected and performance comes from balance, not burnout.
Have you noticed your child often gets sick before or after exams?
Or that no matter how late they stay up to study, they can’t seem to retain what they’ve learned? These are signs that the body and mind are under stress, and that the study system needs to change.
Many parents try to take their children on short trips after exams to help them relax but is there a more long-term solution that helps them stay balanced, focused, and motivated, not only now, but also when they enter university or the workplace?
If I could go back to my HKCEE/HKALE days with what I know now,
I would study differently.
Smarter.
Kinder to myself, yet more effective.
This programme is built so you don’t have to learn that lesson later.
You will learn how to:
✔️ Respect the limits of your mind and body
✔️ Build focus, energy, and emotional calm
✔️ Use science-backed strategies to study smarter, not just longer
✔️ Activate your best learning brain with psychology and habits
✔️ Grow confidence and resilience for exams and life
If you’ve ever tried to study longer but your memory can’t keep up,
if you feel tired, overwhelmed, or stuck trying to “push harder,”
this is your invitation.
Let’s build a whole-person academic system, backed by cognitive psychology, positive psychology, and neuroscience, so you can achieve more with less stress.
You deserve to perform at your best without sacrificing your health, confidence, or happiness.

📘 Programme Content
Week 1: Understanding How Your Brain Learns
Learn about your learning style, study personality, and how to build a personalised study system.
Week 2: Focus & Anti-Procrastination Skills
Develop focus training, motivation strategies, and habits that improve productivity.
Week 3: Stress & Exam Anxiety Management
Use CBT tools and relaxation techniques to stay calm and confident during exams.
Week 4: Memory & Review Systems
Master active recall and spaced repetition to retain information effectively.
We help students answer questions that reveal how their mind and brain actually learn best. By the end of the week, each student will have a clearer map of their learning personality, energy rhythm, and study style, so they can build a system that truly fits them.
Key questions include:
-
How does my brain process and store new information?
-
What is my personal learning style and study personality?
-
When is my brain most alert: morning, afternoon, or evening?
-
How does my sleep pattern (chronotype) affect my memory and focus?
-
Why do I procrastinate, and what small changes can help me start easier?
-
How can I balance rest, play, and study time without losing momentum?
-
Which study habits support long-term success, not just last-minute survival?
-
How do stress and mindset influence how well I learn?
Through guided reflection, self-assessments, and practical activities, students will design their own personalised study framework to carry through the entire course.
